Introducing the recipients of the 2023 IFS Scholastic Awards
Indigenous Financial Solutions is proud to announce the 12 recipients of the 2023 IFS Scholastic Awards the Ed Two-Axe Early endowment fund. The aim is to provide financial assistance to motivated First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students pursuing higher education and we proudly acknowledge the funding provided by Indigenous Financial Solutions (Candice Metallic and Scott Patles-Richardson), Brenda Gedeon (Mi’qmaq Star in Listiguj) and Ed Two-Axe Early’s Family in Kahnawake.
Since its inception in 2020, this funding initiative has expanded significantly, now encompassing twelve awards for the second year in a row. The sponsors of the IFS Scholastic Awards firmly believe in the immense potential of Indigenous youth and actively contribute to the process of decolonization through economic reconciliation.
The twelve deserving recipients of this prestigious award symbolize the future leaders, innovators, in a variety of academic disciplines.
The primary objective behind the establishment of the IFS Scholastic Awards is to celebrate and provide invaluable support to exceptional First Nations, Métis, and Inuit students on their journey towards higher education. The financial grant can be utilized for a wide range of purposes, including books, supplies, IT technology, and living expenses.
